Why it's in the guide
The French bakery-cafe chain's Chelsea outpost sits on the corner of King's Road and Bywater Street. Say what you will about chains, but PAUL does proper French patisserie, the tarte au citron, the eclairs, and the croque monsieur are all legit. Good strong coffee and a nice spot to watch King's Road go by from the upstairs window seats. Spacious enough that you can usually find a table.
A chain, but the French one that earns it — take the tarte au citron upstairs and claim a window seat over King's Road.
