Why it's in the guide

A fascinating free museum exploring the story of the British Army from the English Civil War to the present day. The galleries were completely redone in 2017 and are genuinely engaging, interactive displays, powerful personal stories, and thoughtful curation that doesn't shy away from the complexities of military history. The Temptation cafe is good, and the gift shop stocks interesting military history books. An underrated Chelsea gem that deserves more visitors.

Free entry and surprisingly engaging. The WW1 trench experience is powerful
