Why it's in the guide
One of London's most important contemporary art galleries, housed in the Duke of York's HQ since 2008. The exhibitions rotate regularly and always push boundaries, you'll see everything from established names to emerging artists you've never heard of. The building itself is stunning, a converted military barracks with soaring ceilings and beautiful galleries. Some exhibitions are free, while major shows can require paid tickets; check the current programme. The gift shop is excellent. Essential viewing for anyone interested in contemporary art.
