Why it's in the guide

The Fulham Road branch of London's favourite neighbourhood bakery chain. Say what you will about GAIL's being everywhere now, the sourdough is still excellent, the cinnamon buns are still dangerously addictive, and the coffee is still a solid custom-blend espresso. Grab one of the outside tables when the sun's out and watch Chelsea go by. The shakshuka at brunch is underrated.

It's a chain, but the reliable one — the cinnamon bun still earns its queue, and the shakshuka is the sleeper pick at brunch.
