- Catch confetti on the steps on Saturdays
The grand civic set piece of the King's Road, completed in 1908 and still doing the job it was built for. Its register office has married the famous and the infamous — Judy Garland, Sharon Tate and Hugh Grant among them — and with decent timing you'll catch confetti on the steps on a Saturday. The building earns its keep between ceremonies too: Chelsea Library and the sports centre live inside, and the main halls take fairs and events. One of Chelsea's most recognisable buildings, and its most reliably cheerful stretch of pavement.
Chelsea Library hides inside — slip in for the reading room while wedding parties pose for photos out front.
